Cervantes Public Safety Legislation Signed into Law

(SACRAMENTO) –This week, Assembly Bill 1994 and Assembly Bill 2080 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) were signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. Both bills were sponsored by Attorney General Xavier Becerra and will provide law enforcement with the information necessary to track criminal offenders.

Governor Signs Cervantes Bill to Study Conversion of Riverside County Carpool Lanes

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Assembly Bill 91 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. AB 91 will help ease late-night traffic jams in Riverside County by requiring a study of the feasibility of allowing single-occupancy cars to use high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, commonly known as “carpool lanes,” during non-peak traffic hours. In particular, the Department of Transportation (CalTrans) will study the possible effects of converting carpool lanes in Riverside County on both State Route 91 between Interstate 15 and Interstate 215, and on State Route 60.

Governor Signs Cervantes Bill to Create the Zero-Emission Assurance Project

(SAN FRANSISCO) – This week, Governor Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 193 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) into law. AB 193 would create the Zero-Emission Assurance Project (ZAP), which will provide a rebate for the purchase of a replacement battery or fuel cell for a zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) for qualified consumers.

Governor Signs Cervantes Bill to Reform Local Government Transitions to District-Based Elections

(SACRAMENTO) – Assembly Bill 2123 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown this week. AB 2123 would reform the existing process for local governments to transition to district-based elections by providing for a mutually agreed-to extension of up to 90 days to continue negotiations between local governments and potential plaintiffs.
