Select Committee on Racism, Hate, and Xenophobia

Chair: Assemblymember, Dr. Corey A. Jackson

Select Committee on Racism, Hate, and Xenophobia

Welcome Message

I am proud to be appointed Chair of the Select Committee on Racism, Hate, and Xenophobia. I am committed to confronting and dismantling systemic racism, hate, and xenophobia throughout California. Our work focuses on fostering an inclusive society in which all Californians are treated with dignity and respect.

About Me

I represent California’s 60th Assembly District, which covers parts of Riverside County, including Moreno Valley, Perris, and Riverside. I was elected in 2022 and am proud to be the first openly gay Black man to serve in the California Legislature, as well as the first Black person to represent Riverside County.

I hold a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from California Baptist University. My commitment to public service began early and has included roles such as serving on the California State University Board of Trustees and as State President of the NAACP Youth & College Division.
