Statement from Assemblymember Dr. Corey Jackson on Voting Yes in the Assembly Committee on Petroleum and Gasoline Supply

For immediate release:

"Today, I voted in favor of important legislation brought before the Assembly Committee on Petroleum and Gasoline Supply. My vote was based on the careful consideration of the evidence provided by experts and my colleagues. These bills offer a balanced approach to addressing California’s gasoline supply needs, aiming to increase the availability of petroleum products while ensuring our communities are protected from the harmful impacts of the fossil fuel industry.

As a representative of working-class constituents, many of whom spend a significant portion of their income on commuting, I am committed to lowering gas prices at the pump. The bills passed today aim to reduce gasoline costs by increasing supply, while also setting safeguards for the environment and public health. By supporting these measures, I remain focused on delivering immediate relief to Californians struggling with high fuel costs and ensuring long-term environmental and price protections for our communities. I will continue to work with the Governor and leadership till the very end to make this bill even better.”
