Many families will turn to private tax accountants and preparers to help them file their federal and state taxes, but that can be quite costly. Instead of resorting to this, you can receive assistance at no-cost to you from an IRS-trained volunteer if your household earned $70,000 or less in 2018.

Several no-cost tax preparation workshops are being held throughout the 60th Assembly District to ensure you meet the Tuesday, April 15 tax deadline.

Higher education means greater opportunity—the knowledge and skills you gain through education, as well as career and technical training, can be used for the rest of your life. Finding ways to pay for college can be intimidating, but the state of California is here to help.

High schools throughout the 60th Assembly District are hosting Cash for College Workshops where parents and students can receive assistance with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the CA Dream Act Application. Completing the FAFSA allows qualified students to be considered for the greatest amount of financial aid from federal, state and college sources — and it’s free to fill out.
