National Night Out, Tuesday August 6

National Night Out is August 6. In our community, my office will join law enforcement agencies, your fellow neighbors, and the cities throughout the 60th Assembly District to participate in our community’s National Night Out festivities.

Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), National Night Out is a joint community/police program that provides information, educational materials and technical assistance to community groups to help develop an effective year-long partnership between the community and local law enforcement.  The goal is to reduce crime, violence and substance abuse at the community level.

On August 6, millions of Americans from coast to coast will meet together in their neighborhoods to get involved in the fight against crime. National Night Out helps create crime prevention awareness in the neighborhood through a multitude of events, such as block parties, cookouts, parades, contests, youth events and seminars.

Together, we can reduce crime in our neighborhoods. I invite you to join me and my team in attending some of the festivities taking place in our communities!

July 4, 2019

On Fourth of July, we celebrate the origins of our freedom, rights, and responsibilities as a nation. The feeling about the sanctity of America's Independence Day was best expressed in the July 18, 1777 edition of the Virginia Gazette:

"Thus may the 4th of July, that glorious and ever memorable day, be celebrated throughout America, by the sons of freedom, from age to age, till time shall be no more."

It is with this sentiment in mind, that I invite you to attend some of the celebrations open to the public, taking place throughout the 60th Assembly District.

May 27, 2019

This Memorial Day, we all must take a moment to honor the sacrifice of our brave military service members and keep their families in our prayers.

Memorial Day is a day of both celebration and grief, a day to honor our heroes and reflect on their tragic loss. Their sacrifice helped preserve our freedoms and the liberties that we hold so dear. This day also allows Americans to educate each generation on the historical impact of our military through the participation of the community with those who serve, encouraging patriotism and love for America.

On this day and every day, we honor the fallen and thank those who have served, and continue to serve our great nation. It is with this sentiment in mind, that I invite you to attend some of the festivities taking place throughout the 60th Assembly District:
